Hewlett-Packard India, today announced its collaboration with Dolby Laboratories, Inc. (NYSE: DLB), to offer world-class entertainment features in its new range of consumer notebooks. With the Dolby Advanced Audio v2 for cinematic surround sound, HP Folio 13 marks the latest in a series from HP, in order to connect with entertainment enthusiasts in the country.
“According to a recent research report1, 23 per cent of Indian youth said they spent more time listening to music whilst 83 per cent said music formed a very important part of their lives. The youth in our country, a very significant part of our target audience, are therefore looking for best–in–class music capabilities even when it comes to their PCs,” said Ranjivjit Singh, Chief Marketing Officer, HP PSG India.

Up next is the company’s new range of consumer notebooks, the Pavilion G Series that will further delight users with new styles and enhanced features, envisioned to keep in step with your passions for music.

The following features are included in Dolby Advanced Audio v2:
•Surround Virtualizer: creates a virtualized surround sound experience over the PC’s built-in speakers
•Volume Leveler: maintains a consistent volume across all content and applications according to where the user sets the volume level
•Volume Maximizer: boosts the level of the audio signal so users can turn up the volume without causing noise or clipping
•Graphic Equalizer: lets consumers tailor audio to their exact specifications using high-quality digital filtering
•Audio Optimizer: improves the frequency response of the PC’s built-in speakers so content sounds true to the creator’s intent
•Audio Regulator: eliminates or reduces distortion caused by the combination of overdriven speakers and amplifiers
