BSNL announces Hosted and Cloud services from six new data centres
BSNL partners Datacraft to build, operate and manage Data centre optimization services and Business transformation services
BSNL Partners with Datacraft Asia
Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), India’s largest telecommunications service provider, has entered into a strategic alliance with Datacraft Asia Ltd., the region’s leading provider of IT services and solutions, to provide data center services in India. The agreement will see Datacraft build, operate and manage – six strategic data centres across the country for BSNL. The data centers will feature exceptional capacity for future expansion, optimal power, cooling and IT systems and are designed as fully redundant infrastructure. BSNL and Datacraft will jointly sell the managed Hosted and Cloud “IT as a Service” from these facilities under the brand “onecloud”.
Powered by BSNL and managed by Datacraft, the data centers will feature world class facilities, connectivity and manageability. The cutting-edge technologies will provide a comprehensive portfolio of highly secure, scalable and green data center solutions. Covering a vast data center area of 66,000 square feet, these six data centers are inter-connected with point-to-point Ethernet tunnels that can deliver unprecedented levels of high speed connectivity and low latency. The data centers are strategically located in Jaipur, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Ludhiana, Ghaziabad and Faridabad.

It’s good that BSNL is trying cloud computing but I am sceptical about it’s execution as BSNL is ill-managed, has ill-informed staff (who don’t know about their own product)
