Sony Pictures Home Entertainment (SPHE) releases its first Blu-ray 3D movie ‘Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs’, debuting September 9, 2010 in India. The Blu-ray 3D release of Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs will showcase the film’s colorful environments and ground-breaking lighting technology crafted by an award-winning animation team in full 1080p high definition 3D, optimized for the latest 3D playback devices and eyewear, as well as a 2D high definition version of the film that can be viewed on existing Blu-ray players.

The eye-popping Blu-ray 3D release of Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs offers a variety of special features and will also offer sneak peeks in 3D of Sony Pictures Animation’s Open Season and Monster House, coming soon to Blu-ray 3D. Also launching soon are The Green Hornet, Priest, The Smurfs, Underworld, Arthur Christmas, Hugo Cabret, MIB-3, Hotel Transylvania and Spiderman 4.

Later this year, we will be releasing “Open Season”, “Monster House”  and “The highlights of the FIFA World Cup 2010”  – all in 3D Blu Ray – further underlining our commitment to the 3D hardware industry with compelling content aimed at Indian audiences “.

Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs will be available with select Sony Electronics 3D televisions and Blu-ray players, and will also be sold separately at select retailers. The movie is priced at Rs 1,999/-

    There are more and more 3D movies coming up, I’ve recently seen “Clash of the Titans” in 3D.
