NetworkPlay Media PVT LTD, digital brand ad-network funded by Capital 18, has partnered with Pune-based startup Hover Technologies, in offering marketers a medium dedicated for launching products under the banner of “HoverAds”. As opposed to other forms of advertising, the branding solution shows the actual product when the words targeted by the campaign within the articles are hovered, a first in the country.

Hover Technologies had announced funding by Alok Kejriwal, co-founder of Media2Win Pvt. Ltd in 2009, and is running on premium portals such as Oneindia. Sriram Hebbar, COO of Greynium that runs the portal, says “we have seen increase in time spent with over 100,000 hovers every day across a cross-section of 5 languages where we are seeing 1 hover for every 3 page views”.

The partnership will begin with portals within NetworkPlay’s federation, for whom this will also be an significant added revenue stream. Bhasker Kode, CEO of Hover adds – “and the custom shape ad-units are ideal for consumer-electronic companies to showcase their new products. In 3 years time, we see hover technologies to be the largest source of revenue for multi-lingual portals”.

NetworkPlay which recently won an award for Brand excellence, will lead sales & distribution efforts for HoverAds in India. Rajesh Nair, VP of Networkplay comments “The partnership with Hover is in line with our commitment towards reaching the right audience with innovative branding solutions”.
