The webinar will announce the results of the research project “ITIL Certification: Career Booster or Myth?” The project was conducted to study the effects of ITIL advanced certification, such as ITIL v3 Expert, on the careers of IT professionals.
The research project was completed in March 2010 and included comprehensive research as well as a global survey comprising in-depth interviews of more than 200 ITIL Program Managers, ITIL Experts, ITIL Service Managers, as well as aspiring ITIL Expert candidates. Participants in the research and survey represent 5 continents and over 40 countries. The central questions focused on how advanced ITIL certification (particularly the ITIL Expert Level) impacted factors such as job performance, job prospects, professional network, salary, and overall career.
The research team encountered some interesting and unexpected results, recognizing that this research can provide very interesting guidance to both organizations looking to implement ITIL v3 (or related IT best-practices frameworks), as well as to individuals aspiring to achieve ITIL Expert Level. Interested people can also sign up to receive the report after it is released in a couple of weeks at: http://www.itpreneurs.com/expert/index.php/research.html.
