I'm confident that employing the Task Manager to kill certain processes in fact regenerates some speed to my occasionally sluggish MyTouch 3G original. But only because I kill all and things look cleaner doesn't mean I haven't concluded something unnecessary for many of the processes killed. It may have been a individual app that was inducing the problem. Kondik's assertion on twitter (and I would guess that his voice is the voice of someone, just like google engineers, who has some base in fact and applied science for what he's saying) was that, not withstanding a rogue application misconducting, exercise of the Task Manager to kill all apps was a placebo.
